Zoar. I have to admit, when my buddy Mike told me that he had met The One, and that he was marrying her in Zoar, OH – I was ecstatic and a little confused. Mike’s one of the great ones. A tuned-in dude that’s quick with a smile. He’s smart and affable, and just about as genuine as can be. Knowing him as I do – and hearing how he spoke of her – made my heart swell. But Zoar. What’s Zoar??
Well, Zoar is. …google it, folks (or click here). While your reading keep in mind that the place is still preserved in the tradition from which it came. The people and policy have changed…but the town esthetic is a journey back in town. Charming as can be. Just outside of town is a Rivercrest Farms. A sprawling 120 acre working farm that comes complete with pigs, mustang horses, chickens, alpaqua, and an emu or two, if I recall. Anyway, the farm is a family operation run by a lovely couple and their two daughters. In addition to the landscape, the farm features a quaint and rustic-fabulous event space in the form of a renovated barn. Inside the wooden barn you’ll find cozy guests rooms, an event space featuring 30ft ceilings, lofts and…it’s RAD!
Congratulations to my old friend Mike and the most wonderful bride, Sarah. They’ve got something special, and they know it. I remain eternally grateful for experiences like this.
Every flower and table/barn adornment was designed and executed by Fabulous Flowers of Rochester, NY. These girls travelled a long way with a lot of stuff to make the venue shine. It’s funny that I had to travel all the way to Ohio to work with people from my own city…but life’s funny like that, I guess. At any rate…the details were stunning, as evidenced by the sheer number of detail images in this post. Beautiful light and beautiful details…I got sucked in…..
