Evenings like this are what it’s all about; for it’s not what we do that defines us…how we busy ourselves or rank in the pecking order of nonsense. It’s not places that we’ve seen or drivel we’ve committed to memory. This all has its place, but what matters – what really matters – is what we are rooted to. The feeling and fullness that supersede the conscious. Not that which is IN our heart, but that which IS our heart.
Through my work, clients become friends. No exceptions. I witness their dynamic, become familiar with their people, and play a part in writing a chapter of their family history. Often times I am called back to write subsequent chapters. To document their growth, to share in the lessons and wisdom that comes with parenting…to be a mirror so that they may see – in the midst of the whirlwind that surrounds – themselves.
These are my friends Ryan & Kyla. They live crazy lives. They manage. They’ve brought two beautiful children into the World. Their family is special to me. They are my family. Their children and my son will be friends. We have memories to reflect on,,,and many more ahead.
