Before the start of every Wedding Season, I set aside some time to review past work. There is no rhyme to this, but the reason is clear. This is an exercise to recall the reasons why. To take a massive inhale of all of the inspiration that has passed in front of my eyes. …in advance of the massive exhale that is sure to come through the events of the weeks and months ahead. I cannot wait to dig in.
A few years back – while spending time in CT to rehab a damaged heart – my friend, confidant, healer and photo crush Carla Ten Eyck asked if I could help out with a Wedding on Thimble Island. Right place, right time…I was happy to do so. Together, myself and a very talented photographer by the name of Jacob Bergmeier, embarked upon a water taxi en route to a private island that would play host to Tara & Dan’s very intimate (and charming) Wedding Celebration. Everything was perfect that day. Fairytale, in fact. …besides the wind. It was very windy. BUT…that didn’t sway a single thing in the wrong direction (wind…sway…..see what I did there??). Tara, Dan and their families were a tightly connected bunch. Kind, genuine, down-to-earth folks who welcomed us with open arms. All of whom were fully aware of how special this time in their life was.
I am eternally grateful for the work that I do. I hope that these images are illustrative of that gratitude.
