When Rochester’s premiere Jeweler – Cornell Jewelers – approached me with a request to provide photographic coverage and sponsorship to their annual Race for the Ring Scavenger hunt, I didn’t hesitate to jump on board. Dozens of couples running frantically around Downtown ROC; gathering clues and battling the elements – this is something I have to see. …and people that I HAVE to meet! This year’s grand prize was a beautifully hand-crafted Tacori Engagement Ring setting surrounding the extreme bling of a Forevermark FireCushioned center diamond. Valued at $12,000, this beauty packed its fair share of WOWness.
Cornell Jewelers’ Rochester Race for the Ring participants gathered in the Radisson Rochester Riverside’s grand ballroom to sign in, and to see what Rochester’s best in the wedding industry had to offer. Co-Sponsoring w yours truly were some of Rochester’s finest: Blue Apple Productions, Celebrate Events, Karma Wellness Water, Midtown Athletic Club, The SPA at Del Monte, Rochester Wedding Magazine, Elite Limousines, The Strathallan and The Radisson Rochester Riverside. Media coverage was provided by 98 PXY – Rochester’s #1 Hit Music Station and Rochester’s New Country Music 92.5 WBEE.
Despite the less-than-ideal weather conditions, participants came out in BIG numbers and worked through the 90-minute schedule with great enthusiasm. I had a blast wandering the City’s downtown streets – providing encouragement and much needed comic relief to the contestants. In the end it was Lindsay & Brian who took home the prize. The flood of emotions was palpable…and the short photo session that I held with them afterwards was filled with deep breaths, short gasps and lots of tears. Congrats you guys. …and hats off to Kara at Cornell Jewelers and all who contributed in making this year’s event a great success!
