2019 CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival Photography : Concert Photography by tomas flint

One of THE great photo inspirations, Neal Preston (Look him up HERE) recently released a beautiful PhotoBook of his work through the 70’s -90’s with everyone from Led Zeppelin to Pearl Jam, Guns n’ Roses, etc.  The book is titled:  EXHILARATED & EXHAUSTED.

Yep. That’s about right. The entertainment biz is a grind. BUT when the grinding stops, the satisfaction begins to set it. Then it’s back to the grind.  …and repeat.

This year’s installment of the Rochester International Jazz Festival brought with it a fair share of exhaustion, but much more in the way of exhilaration.  9 days of sunshine. IN A ROW!  1500 artists, hundreds of shows and more talent that I can comment on.  I have too many stories to keep them straight and not enough energy in the tank to attempt to.  Dig on these pictures for a bit.  Starting with Ukulele maestro Jake Shimabukuro in a quaint room with 250 seats and wrapping up on stage with Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue in the heart of downtown in front of 15,000.  It’s all here in photos, my friends.

I sincerely hope that you enjoy this post.
